Enjoy the peace, the many activities and the charming villages. Or be surprised by walking or cycling through the beautiful West Friesland, with beautiful polder landscapes, forest and dune areas and a wonderfully wide beach.

In the spring, lambs 🐑🐑 are born again on our farm and we can enjoy the beautiful flower fields 🌷🌷.

Guesthouse Tolkerbosch has a holiday apartment for 8 to 10 persons and a holiday home for 2 persons (where your pet is also welcome), just 15 minutes by bike from the old city center of Schagen and 15 minutes by car (12 kilometers) from the beach, the sea and the dunes of the North Holland coast.

The Holiday Apartment

On holiday with friends and/or family; This beautiful, spacious holiday apartment is located in the former hayloft of the farm. An ideal place for a cozy, attractive stay with plenty of space and privacy. It has a spacious living room with wood stove and kitchen, four bedrooms (with 8 lovely box-spring beds and 2 luxurious folding beds), two bathrooms, both with a separate toilet and a third toilet at the front door.

On the lawn at the farm you will find a cozy covered terrace with sufficient seating, a bbq and a patio heater. An ideal place to enjoy the outdoors with your family or friends. And for the children there is a trampoline.

This accommodation is not suitable for youth groups (up to 26 years old).

The Holiday home

In this holiday home for 2 people (where your pet is also welcome), you can enjoy the comfortable underfloor heating on the entire ground floor. Here is the living room with dining area and sitting area with TV; the bathroom, toilet and a kitchen. Via a staircase in the living room you reach the spacious bedroom with comfortable box-spring beds, which can be made separately or together. You have access to the entire house and therefore a lot of privacy, a private entrance and a private terrace,

Who are we

We are Willem and Lidy Wijnker. Proud owners of Tolkerbosch since 1984. Located east of the hamlet of Tolke, on the edge of the old characteristic center of Schagen. A unique location with panoramic views over the West Frisian landscape. We run a sheep farm at this location and at the end of 2020 we built a spacious, rurally furnished apartment and now also a holiday home. Our aim is to provide our guests with a pleasant stay and to let them enjoy the peace, space and beautiful surroundings of the part of West Friesland where we are located.

History of Tolkerbosch

A historic place, where habitability is known until before 1600. It is also located on one of the oldest access roads to Schagen; the Tolkerdijk

In the 17th century, when the Alkmaar lawyer Adriaan Westphalen acquired the farm as a country estate, he called it a “pleasant, well-located homestead”. At that time the name of the farm was ”Hofstede Tolke”. After he had trees planted next to the farm, it was given the name "Tolkerbosch".

A name that has been around for many years and is still used today.

However, the homestead was burned by hay in 1958. A "head-neck-trunk" farm was replaced in its place, with a cowshed that was modern in South Holland at the time.

The head-neck-trunk farm still exists. Now with an apartment in the former hayloft and a shed at the back of the yard, where the holiday home is also located.

Guesthouse Tolkerbosch is easily accessible via the N241. Take the service road into account. If you come by public transport, the distance to the Schagen train station is only 4 km and to the nearest airport it is 63 km.
